Hallmark Named Greeting Card Brand of the Year in 2019 Harris Poll EquiTrend Study

For a ninth year in a row, Hallmark receives highest Equity score among greeting card brands

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 21, 2019) – Greetings industry leader, Hallmark Cards, is once again named Greeting Card Brand of the Year in Harris Poll’s 2019 EquiTrend Study for the ninth year in a row. The annual report uses consumer responses to determine the top brands in a variety of areas such as media, travel, financial, automotive, entertainment, retail, restaurant, technology, household and non-profit industries.

“In today’s increasingly divisive society, people are looking for ways to inject more caring and positivity into the world than ever before,” said Amy McAnarney, VP and General Manager, Key Accounts and Business Development. “At Hallmark, we are committed to helping our customers live a more caring and connected life, and we are honored to once again be recognized as a brand that people trust and turn to when they want to emotionally connect with their loved ones.”

Hallmark Cards received the highest numerical Equity Score among greeting card brands included in the 2019 study. The results are based on survey responses from more than 45,000 U.S. consumers of more than 2,000 brands. A brand’s Equity is determined by a calculation of familiarity, quality and purchase consideration.

“It means a lot to Hallmark to continue to receive this distinction year after year, and it reminds us that we don’t do this alone,” said McAnarney. “Our retail partners are essential in helping us make Hallmark products accessible to consumers in stores and online. We continue to work closely with our partners to create go-to destinations where people can find products that help them lead better, healthier lives – both physically and emotionally.”

Hallmark produces approximately 10,000 new and redesigned greeting cards annually. Products are sold in more than 40,000 retail outlets nationwide, including drug stores, mass merchandise stores, discount stores and grocery stores. Globally, Hallmark distributes products in more than 30 languages to more than 100 countries. Hallmark holds licensing agreements for nine of the top 10 most popular licensed properties.
