KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 20, 2020) – The health and safety of Hallmark employees remains a top priority. In response to COVID-19, beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, Hallmark Cards, Inc. is temporarily closing its manufacturing plants in Lawrence, Kan., which makes greeting cards, Leavenworth, Kan., which makes gift wrap, Center, Tex. and Metamora, Ill., both of which make store fixtures and displays.
The distribution center in Liberty, Mo., which ships Hallmark products across North America will remain open with a reduced staff schedule and will continue to implement enhanced cleaning protocols, and social distancing strategies.
During this time, employees will receive either two week’s pay or an additional two weeks of personal time off (PTO).
The Hallmark COVID-19 task force is monitoring the rapidly evolving situation and utilizing guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and local public health and emergency response agencies.
