I am a senior lettering artist for Hallmark and I love creating art with messages of hope, encouragement, and strength.

What inspires you to create?

Most of the pieces that I letter hold personal significance to me and have impacted me in some way. The art I create is an outgrowth of my internal life to express the words that are circulating in my own mind and heart.

What advice would you give to people looking to express their creativity?

If you’re looking to express your creativity I would start by using the tools and supplies you have already. I experimented with tons of different mediums and outlets before I found my passion in lettering. And when you find something that speaks to you dive into it fully!

How does your art connect with people?

I post my personal work on my instagram account (@meredith.e.tan) where people are able to engage with and share my work. It’s also been very rewarding to get to meet people who have been impacted by my work face to face at Hallmarket!
