About
I create two types of art, wood bowls and paintings.
I find wood for my bowls from storm damage or felled trees. I explore many species and shapes applying colorization, carving, and finishing techniques to make each piece unique and special.
With my paintings, I’ve developed a multimedia ‘light box’ technique on acrylic that combines photography, tinted resins, elements from nature & LED lights. The result is an interesting sculptural surface by day and a beautiful window into the nature at night.
What inspires you to create?
Honestly, anything I see can be an inspiration (I mean that literally). Creating for me is part inspiration, part obsession and part therapy. The therapy part occurs throughout the creation process, from daybreak walks in the woods to the application of that perfect color to canvas.
