About

Since I was young I have found comfort in creating. I love to spend hours relaxing with a tatting shuttle and crochet hook. I hope that my little creations bring kids and adults joy.

What inspires you to create?

I love to work with my hands using textiles and fabrics. When I was young I admired my grandma’s tatting framed on her wall and couldn’t wait to try to make one myself. It led me to a 20 year love of tatting that I want to share with people around me. I also watched my great grandma crochet as she sat and shared stories with family. The history of making is such a wonderful tradition to carry on with my family.

What advice would you give to people looking to express their creativity?

Don’t be afraid to try new things even if you throw it away in the end or unravel it. It is important to explore and try. I struggle at time with the need for perfection. I have tried to be patient with myself and really enjoy the process and journey of making rather than a perfect end result.

How does your art connect with people?

I love to make sweet precious things weather it is a tatted snowflake or a sweet little crochet turtle coming out of an egg. I make touchable art that looks sweet but isn’t fragile. I hope what I make reminds people of someone in their family who liked to create.
