About

I am an illustrator and designer originally from Miami, FL, now based in Kansas City for 5 years. I have a special affinity for children’s artwork and love to create fun, colorful designs that will bring a smile to a soul and lift others up. I specialize in digital and acrylic and gouache painting.

What inspires you to create?

I have always found it easiest to express myself and what I am feeling through drawings and paint. I draw inspiration from affirmations, every day moments that others can relate to, and my rich culture as a Cuban-Colombian second-generation daughter of immigrants. Growing up in Miami meant there was a lot of color, sunshine, and amazing music and food to always be inspiring me!

What advice would you give to people looking to express their creativity?

You don’t have to wait until you have all the right tools to start, or wait for inspiration to strike. All you need to create is already inside you – and maybe a little courage to sit down and set your vision free.

How does your art connect with people?

What I like about illustration over fine art and painting is that it’s not meant to be subjective – it’s a clear form of communication art meant to spread a message or information about a topic. That’s why I enjoy illustrating small moments from every day life, and affirmations that make folks feel good. Because, I want my illustration to make you feel understood and clearly seen, whatever walk of life you come from.
