J.C. Hall Christmas Trees

From the beginning, Hallmark employees fashioned giant Christmas cards as annual holiday gifts for Joyce Clyde Hall, our brand’s founder. By 1966, the gift tradition evolved into creating and decorating life-sized Christmas trees. Each year, the newly-styled, fantastical tree was unveiled in Mr. Hall’s headquarters office during the last work days before Christmas. This spectacular tradition continued for seventeen years until 1982, the year of Mr. Hall’s death.
