Citizenship
Hallmark’s business is built on helping people form emotional connections to make a genuine difference in the lives of others. That’s true not only of our products, but also the way we create them.
It’s also a long-standing tradition. Founder J.C. Hall strongly believed that the economic, civic, cultural and social strength of a community is reflected in its citizens and, by extension, Hallmark employees.
His son, Donald J. Hall, felt the same way, leading an effort to articulate a code of beliefs and values to guide our work, and influencing philanthropy and a multitude of civic initiatives in Kansas City. His sons, Donald J. Hall, Jr. and David E. Hall, in turn, carried forward the same sense of commitment to community and responsible business practices., which has continued under Mike Perry, president and CEO.
Commitment at the top means that being a good corporate citizen isn’t just something we talk about at Hallmark. It’s the essence of who we are. As part of this commitment, view Hallmark’s most recent Caring in Action Social Responsibility Report, which provides a comprehensive look at Hallmark’s community involvement, sustainability, and diversity and inclusion progress. Initiatives in 2018 from operations in Kansas City and around world are included to provide a more complete story about our global company’s diverse portfolio of businesses including Hallmark Greetings, Hallmark Retail, Crown Media, Crayola and Crown Center.
