"Hallmarket: A Hallmark Artist Art Fair" Celebrates Creativity

Public art show featuring the personal work of Hallmark artists set for September 29

KANSAS CITY, Mo (Aug. 14, 2012) — Back for its third year, "Hallmarket: A Hallmark Artist Art Fair" will showcase the creative talents of Hallmark employees. The art fair will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., at Crown Center on the Hallmark Square in front of the Visitors Center and Kaleidoscope.

Around 100 Hallmark employees who are photographers, sculptors, designers, photo stylists and graphic artists, along with others, will display and offer their work for sale. A wide array of artwork will be available including textiles, turned wooden bowls, sculptures, art quilts, jewelry, oil and watercolor paintings, and photography. These pieces are the personal work of the artist, created outside of their jobs with Hallmark.

"This event is special because Hallmark is home to one of the world's largest creative staffs and you get to witness the creative passion that is part of that community," said Regi Ahrens, manager of the Hallmark Visitors Center and Kaleidoscope who is coordinating this event. "And that creative passion goes home with everyone who attends, whether it is in a piece of art to hang on their living room wall or a happy feeling in their heart."

Many artists plan to demonstrate their crafts throughout the day. The Hallmark Visitors Center and Kaleidoscope will be open during the event.

Hallmarket is free and open to the public. Purchases of artwork may be made by cash or check, directly to the artist.

For event information, the public can call 816-274-5745.
