Hallmark and Feeding America™ Join Forces for Holiday Food Drive

Hallmark consumers can help feed hungry when purchasing Thanksgiving greetings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Sept. 24, 2008) — This Thanksgiving, Hallmark and Feeding America™ (formerly named America’s Second Harvest) are partnering to help feed our nation’s hungry. Hallmark will donate 1 percent of the net sales of its Hallmark-branded and Connections from Hallmark-branded 2008 Thanksgiving cards to Feeding America.

Feeding America is the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization, founded in 1979. Each year they secure and distribute nearly 2 billion pounds of food and grocery products through more than 200 member food banks and food rescue organizations throughout the United States.

“Hunger is an issue that affects communities across the country,” said Margie Schaff, product manager at Hallmark. “At a time of year when we’re celebrating the abundance in our lives, it’s important to support hunger-relief programs. We’re glad we can enable people to make a difference by simply purchasing a card.”
