Hallmark Announces Finalists in “Birthday His Way” Greeting Card Contest
Winning cards sold online at Hallmark.com
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Nov. 2, 2009) — Hallmark today announces the finalists in the latest card creation contest, “Birthday His Way.” Consumers were invited to submit a funny, serious or endearing birthday wish for a guy, in hopes of turning the creation into a Hallmark card.
Contestants began submitting their creations in September. The 30 finalists’ designs will be sold on Hallmark.com beginning today and several will be featured in a special in-store birthday display in summer 2010. Finalists each receive $250 and could win an additional $250 if their card is chosen for in-store sales.
Hallmark judges looked for cards that had photos/designs and writing that worked well together, could be sent to many different men and were especially funny or endearing.
“This our seventh contest,” notes Theresa Murphy, Hallmark associate product manager. “We’ve changed the contest format a bit based on fan feedback and it’s worked well. The submissions were fantastic and these finalists provide great birthday cards for the men in your life!”
The 30 finalists are from 17 states.
